  遠い昔の兵隊は、今日の兵士の服装を見慣れている私たちにはなんと派手に見えることか！私はこの色彩豊かで個性的な騎兵達のコスチュームに興味を持ち立体にしてみました。歴史の本とファッションプレート、私の想像力を基にして、肖像画を描く様なつもりで作りました。題材にしたのは、フランスのアンシャン・レジームからナポレオン帝政までの時代の騎兵です。
